Emperor : Rise of the Middle Kingdom (2002)

Due to the success of Shogun, Breakaway games asked me to write Asian inspired music for this game. I enjoyed the peaceful state of mind writing this music.

  3. That’s a fabulous work~! You are really great ~! I’m a Chinese, and I can not believe that you, a foreign composer, make such original songs. It’s just..just unbelievable and incredible! I love it, and my Chinese friends love it too. Wish you have more creations~! lol…

      1. Wow, thank you so much! I’m really enjoying the varity that YouTube is offering. I’ve even learned to make some weird noises myself.

  6. Hi Jeff

Wonderful music and even after years makes me want to go back to the game. I feel like I am there in the midst of the game. Brilliant. Any chance i can download the whole set?

  7. I was very late to the Emperor crowd, only discovering the game last year on my sister’s recommendation. I’ve been hopelessly addicted ever since, and the beautiful music really adds to the atmosphere. One of my favourites is the War of the Elephants, particularly the vocals – what was the inspiration/model for that?

  8. This is a fantastic soundtrack. Years since I last played the game I was compelled to search for it. To find it available straight from your page in mp3 is fantastic, as I can’t find my disc! Keep working friend, and don’t let the fools bring you down.

    Yours from Australia, J.

  9. This soundtrack is played regularly in my home. As a musician myself I must say it is an excellent score. Is there any chance you would comment on the synths used or how the recordings came together. Thanks
